What is YouWrite?

YouWrite is an offline-first practice app for IELTS Writing Task 1 and Task 2. It does the things AI does badly — a structured curriculum, spaced repetition, forced deliberate practice, and offline reliability — and hands grading off to the AI you already use. Write in a distraction-free studio, then send your essay to ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini in one tap; the app turns the feedback into drills you actually remember.

How YouWrite uses your data

Offline-first by design

Your essays, review history, decks, progress, and settings are stored locally on your device. The app has no backend and does not upload your writing. You can export and import your data as a file at any time, entirely under your control.

Bring your own AI

The app contains no AI and never sends your essays anywhere on its own. When you use the grading handoff, the app simply copies your essay so you can paste it into the AI tool you choose (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini, or another). Anything you share with that tool is handled under that provider's own privacy policy.

Optional Google Sign-In

Signing in with Google is optional and skippable. If you choose to sign in, the app uses your name and email to personalize the experience. See our Privacy Policy for how this is handled and how to delete it.

Third-party services

The app uses Firebase Crashlytics and Firebase Analytics to fix bugs and understand which features help learners, and RevenueCat to manage Pro subscriptions. No essays or personal writing are shared with these services. See our Privacy Policy for full details.

YouWrite is built for Android, with iOS planned. Free to use, with an optional Pro upgrade that unlocks premium features and content.
