1. Acceptance of Terms
By downloading, installing, or using IELTS writing ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the App. The App is published by PrincipiaForge ("we," "us," or "our").
2. Description of Service
IELTS writing is an offline-first practice application for IELTS Writing Task 1 and Task 2. It provides a structured curriculum, model essays and an idea bank, spaced repetition, interactive drills and challenges, a writing studio with an on-device linter, and progress tracking. The App contains no AI and does not grade your writing itself; instead, it lets you hand your essay off to a third-party AI tool of your choice for grading and feedback. The App is available as a free version with an optional paid upgrade ("IELTS writing Pro").
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 13 years old to use the App. If you are under 18, you confirm that you have obtained consent from a parent or legal guardian to use the App and agree to these Terms.
4. Google Sign-In
Signing in with a Google account is optional. If you choose to sign in, you authorize the App to receive your basic Google profile information (name and email address), which is stored on your device to personalize your experience. You can sign out at any time, or revoke access through your Google Account settings.
5. IELTS writing Pro — Subscriptions and Purchases
IELTS writing Pro unlocks premium features and content within the App. The specific features included, the available plans, and their prices are shown in the App and on Google Play before you purchase.
Pro may be offered as one or more auto-renewing subscriptions (for example, monthly or yearly) and/or a one-time purchase. For auto-renewing subscriptions:
- Your subscription automatically renews at the end of each billing period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the period ends.
- Your account is charged for renewal within 24 hours prior to the end of the current period.
- You can manage or cancel your subscription, and turn off auto-renewal, at any time in your Google Play account settings.
- Where a free trial is offered, any unused portion of a trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription.
All purchases are processed by Google Play. Refund requests are subject to Google Play's refund policies. Prices may vary by region and are subject to change; any change will not affect a billing period already paid for.
6. User Data and Content
All essays, notes, decks, review history, and other content you create within the App ("User Content") are stored locally on your device. You can export and import this content as a file under your own control. You retain full ownership of your User Content. We do not access, collect, or store your User Content on our servers — we operate none.
7. AI Grading and Third-Party AI Tools
The App is designed to pair with an external AI tool (such as ChatGPT, Claude, or Gemini) that you choose and control. When you use the grading handoff, you are sharing your essay directly with that third-party tool, and your use of it is subject to that provider's own terms and privacy policy. We do not provide, control, or guarantee the AI feedback or band scores produced by those tools, and we are not responsible for their accuracy, availability, or content. Any band scores recorded in the App are practice estimates only.
8. No Affiliation with IELTS; Practice Estimates
IELTS is a registered trademark of the British Council, IDP: IELTS Australia, and Cambridge University Press & Assessment. The App is an independent study tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, sponsored by, or connected to these organizations or any official IELTS body. Practice prompts, model answers, and band-score estimates provided in or through the App are for study purposes only. They do not represent official IELTS materials and do not predict, simulate, or guarantee your performance or score on an official IELTS test.
9. Acceptable Use
You agree not to:
- Reverse engineer, decompile, or disassemble the App.
- Use the App in any manner that could damage, disable, or impair the service.
- Attempt to gain unauthorized access to any systems or networks connected to the App.
- Use the App for any unlawful purpose.
10. Intellectual Property
The App, including its design, code, graphics, icons, curriculum, and branding, is the intellectual property of PrincipiaForge and is protected by applicable copyright and trademark laws. These Terms do not grant you any rights to use our trademarks, logos, or branding. Third-party trademarks (including IELTS and the names of any AI tools) remain the property of their respective owners.
11. Disclaimer of Warranties
The App is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of harmful components, nor do we guarantee any particular improvement in your writing or IELTS results. You use the App at your own risk.
We are not responsible for any data loss resulting from device failure, App uninstallation, or your use of third-party services such as Google Play or external AI tools.
12. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PrincipiaForge shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of study progress, or loss of profits, arising out of or related to your use of the App.
13. Third-Party Services
The App integrates with third-party services including Google Sign-In, Firebase (for crash reporting and analytics), RevenueCat (for subscription management), and any external AI tool you choose to use. Your use of these services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies. We are not responsible for the availability or conduct of third-party services.
14. Changes to the App
We may update, modify, or discontinue features of the App at any time. We will make reasonable efforts to preserve your data when making changes, but cannot guarantee uninterrupted access to any specific feature.
15. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The updated Terms will be posted at this URL with a revised effective date. Your continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
16. Termination
You may stop using the App at any time by uninstalling it. We reserve the right to suspend or terminate access to the App if you violate these Terms. Upon termination, your locally stored data remains on your device until you delete it.
17. Governing Law
These Terms shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Republic of Uzbekistan, without regard to conflict of law provisions.
